MPC Website Relaunch
Milford Prevention Council (MPC)
Website Redesign & Content Generation
CHALLENGE
MPC provides education and programs on preventing substance use among youth in Milford, CT. We know from the recent Surgeon General’s report that between 40-70% of the risk for addiction is genetic. We also know that environment and individual decisions can modify that risk of addiction. That makes MPC programs critical in the community to educate parents and youth alike. In order to maximize local reach and drive sustainability efforts, MPC needed to revitalize its online presence.
Our challenge was to build and launch a new website and develop a message that resonates.
SOLUTION
We initiated a brief strategy development process that centered on a new, streamlined sitemap. We focused on several main objectives: organizing site content, connecting MPC to the local community, writing effective copy, and highlighting the ability to donate online. We chose to develop the site in WordPress for its flexible functionality and so we could handoff an easy-to-use, scalable content management system. The site uses imagery from local photographers to create a strong connection to the community. Copy on the site reads at a grade level of 6, which ensures a high level of readability among a diverse local population. And it incorporates effective search engine optimization and analytics.
Charge Ahead also led the development and implementation of MPC’s first-ever direct mail sustainability campaign.
EXECUTION
“Our new site is critical to our mission to reduce drinking and substance use among young people. It is very user-friendly. It allows parents and children to easily find information on MPC events and resources. The layout makes anyone feel comfortable because it is so well done and clean looking. You feel as if you are in good hands and you know that you will be able to find anything you need on this site.”
